Advertising Techniques 3 - exaggeration

Exaggeration is used quite a lot in advertising but mainly in beauty products. many companies over exaggerate the effect of their product to boost sales by making it sound amazing and that it does a lot when in actual truth it most likely doesnt do exactly as it says. they use it to make the product sound better and to make you want it more. lynx use exaggeration in every single advert now, but do you think people would buy it as much if they just said it makes you smell nice and not sweat? People have come to expect the Crazy over the top lie that girls will fall in love with you and follow you round just because you use a lynx product. Exaggeration can be a powerful tool to help sell your product

In this link Chocolate advert it shows a man using lynx chocolate and turning into a man made of chocolate (which i find quite creepy) and every woman he walks past cant resist him, this is obvious exaggeration because he only used a small  amount which would be hard to smell unless you were pressed against him so it's overexaggerating the strength of the smell and the effect it has on women, just because you use a nice smelling deodorant doesnt mean you will have women throwing themselves against windows for you.
