a parodic advert uses humour from making fun of other advertisements or serious programs on tv. these are designed to make people laugh and the fact that it's funny sticks with them. the popularity of these adverts is by word of mouth because we all show people funny videos so if an advert's funny its going to be spread around friends and family. an example of this is the cadburys fabulous fingers advertisement where they make fun of american soap operas such as dynasty. they use a typical Drama scene for a soap opera where someone is accused and pushed down a set of stairs and the person who pushes them feels remorse. I think that the target audience applies to families because the younger children will probably laugh at when the biscuit snaps and the fact theyre dressed up in dresses and hair and the parents will laugh at the over the top soap opera drama.
